Read on for 505 Ranch Club’s top skeet shooting tips!

Safety First

Safety is essential. It’s vital to talk with your family or a gun safety professional before handling any firearm. Always keep your gun pointed in a safe direction, and keep the gun unloaded until ready to shoot.

Position

Before you begin, make sure you’re in the correct position. Shift your weight onto your front leg and make sure to keep your knee slightly bent. With your legs shoulder width apart, move from the waist up, using your feet as anchors. And of course, follow the bird.

Eyes on the Target

It’s all about the eyes. Watch the bird and trust your instincts. When your eyes follow, so will the barrel.

Dominant Eye

Sometimes your dominant eye is different from your dominant hand, so make sure to figure out which eye is correct. Work on shooting from both sides until you figure out what works best for you.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Practice makes perfect — so get out there and get shooting!
