Things to do at Cedar Creek Lake

Beautiful Cedar Creek Lake is the fourth largest lake in Texas. That means over 320 miles of shoreline just an hour out of Dallas, packed with fun things to do. Fishing, boating, and water sports await — but that’s far from all. Check out 505 Ranch Club’s guide to some of Cedar Creek’s best places to enjoy:

The Lake

The lake is perfect for water sports, and Cedar Creek’s 8 marinas make it easy to launch from any part of the lake. Swing by Lone Star Marina or Cedar Creek Water Sports if you need something for your boat (or you need a boat) for the weekend, and hit up the lower end of the reservoir to catch some largemouth bass.

The Links

If you’re looking to catch 18 holes, there are plenty of options. Pine Dunes Resort is a spectacular 4.5 Star Rated Championship Golf Course, designed by the acclaimed Jay & Carter Morrish. Kings Creek Country Club is a beautiful course for all skill levels, with 9 or 18 hole tee times available. Cedar Creek Country Club mixes a premier 18 hole golf experience with an incredible amenity base and what people say is the best food in East Texas - we’ll let you be the judge!

Grubs & Suds

Cedar Creek Brewery is quickly becoming one of Cedar Creek Lake’s best kept secrets. It’s award winning craft brews are tough to pass up, but the atmosphere and family fun is easy to fall in love with. For a one-of-a-kind East Texas experience, check out the taproom or hit a live show in the biergarten. Victorian Lady Tea Room is one of the best rated eating spots in town, with unbelievable chicken salad and a jalapeno pimento cheese you just have to try.

Go for a Ride

If horseback riding is your thing, we have a private equestrian center right at 505 Ranch Club, and Twisted B is a high quality, locally owned and operated one-stop-shop for horse and livestock needs. If you brought your own 4x4s, 505 Ranch has a private ATV course with miles of trail. Or if you want to rent, buy, or service an ATV, you can hit Cedar Creek Water Sports or (a little further away) Brinson Powersports of Corsicana.

If you’re looking to really relax and reconnect, you can check out one of the many campgrounds at the lake, even our very own at 505 Ranch Club. Pine Gardens RV Park features 30 & 50 amp hookups, a campground for tents, brand new cabins, and an awesome fishing pier.  Gun Barrel City Park, and Purtis Creek State Park, are both right nearby, and offer beautiful scenery and hiking, biking, boating, fishing, and camping sites.
